Dear Chlorine,
When you grow up, maybe not when you first read this but even further into the future, you’ll learn that things change. Things evolve. There are small things, and there are big things.
Your Mommy and I love MMORPGs. We played several since we graduated from college: Tantra, Perfect World, World of Warcraft. When I tried Guild Wars 2 after having played WoW for over a year, I was skeptical at first.
Like all games, though, as long as you play them with friends, they become much more fun. This is a video of me participating in a so-called World Event early in my Guild Wars 2 life:
This is my first character (which I barely use these days) and as you can hear our voices in the video, I was playing with two friends and colleagues (and also your Ninongs).
Because Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have Raiding dungeons or Raiding parties like in WoW, it tries to make up for it by using “World Events” like this one. World Events are huge boss fights that require many players to complete. Unlike Raids, it does not require too much strategy and the participants don’t even need to communicate at all to complete the task.
It’s good in the sense that anyone at anytime can participate – no need to form groups. And who knows, maybe at the time you’re reading these, Guild Wars 2 Raiding will have already existed! (If it does please wake me up right now and let’s do one).
Try out new things, experiment, and have fun!
You may or may not like it in the end, but you can’t comment on it until you’ve tried it yourself.
P.S. This does not apply to drugs, tobacco, and even alcohol.
